General Elections 2020
I'm not one to go into politics much, so I'll keep this short. The General Elections just happened in Singapore, with the ruling party since independence, People's Action Party (PAP), winning supermajority as usual, but with a bigger percentage of opposition (mostly from Worker's Party or WP) taking up seats in parliament. My post today isn't about PAP or WP or politics in general, really. My post is about all the rather petty complaints I've heard from my fellow Singaporeans throughout the course of this election. I just want to say this: Until you've lived in another country, and I mean actually LIVED, settled down - not just worked overseas or studied overseas, you will not understand how good you have it back home. Complaints about housing being too expensive for this generation to afford - Singapore is a city-state, go to any city in the world, the prices will match. Complaints about taxes being too high - please find out the taxes in other count...
